Our clients in York had lived here for some years, but when they had a little more time in their lives had decided to develop and re-design their garden and following a recommendation asked us to help.

A relaxed rural garden designed for easy living

The main part of the development here was to deal with the surface water problem of the existing garden. Once drainage was created, the design focused on a good-sized entertaining area close to the house with a sight line through a brick-built pergola and onwards to a bench seat. The summerhouse made the most of the sun, and planting was created to provide colour all year round. A mowing strip to the lawn edge also cuts down on maintenance long-term. The result is a relaxed, liveable garden that enhances the home and makes everyday outdoor moments feel effortless.
